The CIRS 2026 Three Minute Thesis (3MT®️) Competition was successfully conducted on 4 June 2026 with the participation of emerging researchers, showcasing their ability to communicate complex research within a three-minute presentation. Following the review of submitted abstracts and applications, fifteen participants were selected to present in the competition.
The event was organized by the CIRS 2026 3MT Committee under the guidance of Senior Professor and Chair Menik Hettihewa, Conference Chair of CIRS 2026, and chaired by Ms. Suhashini Marian Silva. Presentations were evaluated by a panel of six evaluators based on content, clarity, timing, and effectiveness of research communication, in accordance with the competition guidelines.
Based on the evaluation process, the top five presenters were shortlisted, from whom the final three winners were selected. The final three winners will be given the opportunity to participate in the CIRS 2026 award ceremony, which will be held on 18 August 2026 at Hilton Colombo.
This competition was conducted with the permission of the University of Queensland, in accordance with the established Three Minute Thesis (3MT®️) guidelines.
